Overview
MarkSafe is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect the absolute minimum data necessary to operate the hazard mapping platform. No user accounts, no sign-ups, no personal information required.
Data We Collect
When you submit a hazard report, we collect only:
- Location coordinates — The latitude and longitude of the hazard pin you place on the map.
- Hazard details — Category, severity rating, and description you provide.
- Media — Photos or videos you optionally upload as evidence.
We do not collect: names, email addresses, phone numbers, IP addresses, device fingerprints, or any other personally identifiable information.
How We Use Data
Hazard report data is used solely to display hazards on the interactive map and reports listing. All data is publicly visible to all users of the platform.
Data Storage
Data is stored securely on Supabase (PostgreSQL) servers. Media files are stored in Supabase Storage with a maximum file size of 50MB.
Analytics
We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to monitor site performance. These collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (page views, performance metrics) with no personal identifiers.
