About MarkSafe
Our Mission
MarkSafe is a community-driven hazard mapping platform built to make Pakistan's streets safer. Every day, citizens face dangerous potholes, uncovered manholes, exposed electric wires, and other hazards that cause injuries, vehicle damage, and even deaths.
We believe that by empowering everyday citizens to report these hazards — anonymously, freely, and with GPS precision — we can create a comprehensive safety map that helps people navigate safely and holds authorities accountable for infrastructure maintenance.
How It Works
- Drop a pin — Tap anywhere on the map to mark the exact location of a hazard.
- Add evidence — Categorize the hazard, rate severity, and upload a photo or video.
- Community validates — Other citizens upvote reports, surfacing the most critical hazards.
Our Values
- Anonymous by design — No accounts, no sign-ups, no personal data collected.
- Free forever — MarkSafe is and will always be free for everyone.
- Community-powered — Citizens report and validate hazards together.
- Bilingual — Full support for English and Urdu map tiles.
- Open and transparent — Built with open-source tools and open data.
Coverage
MarkSafe covers all cities across Pakistan — from Karachi and Lahore to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Quetta, Faisalabad, Multan, Hyderabad, and beyond. Our GPS-precise mapping works anywhere in the country.
